An unusually small orientalist ormolu clock. made in france circa 1823-5 this lovely little clock depicts an ottoman woman in elaborate head-dress holding a bow and quiver leaning on a pillow strewn couch. the base of the clock has a fine moulding decorated with amthemion and the clock has superb bracket feet. the movement is now a superb quality english watch movement by one of the most famous english makers john ellicott of london and numbered 7978 and has a beautiful backcock.8.5 inches high ( 21 cms).
