Pair French 18th Century Chinnoisserie Figures

A very fine pair of french chinnoisserie figures seated in a relaxed position on small couches. very fine quality casting and finishing, including poincing and chasing. wax cast in bronze then french plated ( an extremely rare but similar process to that for ormolu where ground silver is mixed with mercury and fired onto the bronze). superb detail in every respect to both figures very fine clothing, their hats and jewellry. the female figure has an ivory tip to the wand she holds. these figures are certainly french and almost certainly date from the second half of the 18th century. 11.25 inches high ( 28 cms).
