Good quality pair of european ivory cupids on circular ivory bases. one cupid is working as a blacksmith using a hammer on an anvil, probably fashioning cupid's arrows. he wears an apron and a flat cloth hat and has an intense expression of concentration on his face. the second cupid, also set on a circular base is leaning against a truncated reeded column with laurel leaves trailing from it. he is writing either in a book or on a tablet. probably dating from circa 1880. very fine carving and condition. 4.5 inches high by 2.25 inches diameter ( 11.25 cms by 5.625 cms).
