A fine quality and attractive french antique clock set of pink, jewelled porcelain and fine original ormolu with silver highlights to corners and buds. the set comprising a clock with two covered urns each on their original giltwood stand. the porcelain in excellent condition with fine handpainted scenes of lovers within jewelled borders. the original gilding is further embellished with fine silver highlights to leaves and buds, this process is only used on the finest clocks. the clock with fine painted porcelain dial is of 8 day duration and strikes the hours and halves on a bell. circa 1880. 20 inches high by 15 inches wide by 5.75 inches deep ( 50 cms by 37.5 cms by 14 cms) sidepieces 11.75 inches high by 5 inches sq. ( 29 cms by 12.5 cms).
