A quite magnificent italian grand tour bronze of "the dying gaul" . a grand tour bronze copy of the famous roman marble statue now in the capitoline museum rome which itself is a copy of a lost hellenistic statue.
the casting and finishing of this lovely piece is excellent, enormous care has been taken with the chasing. the patination is completely original. it comes with a black marble base. 14.5 inches wide by 7 inches deep and 7.25 inches high ( 36.25 cms by 17.5 cms by 18 cms).
