An antique figural silver sifter spoon beautifully detailed on the pierced bowl with a warrior atop a chariot pulled by three horses. the spoon also features a cast draped male figure atop a column. finely executed details; please be sure to view all the pictures to capture all of them.
the piece bears english hallmarks on the front along with anther set on the back. the english hallmarks are; wh or wm for sponsors (or importers) mark, lion passant for sterling silver, "d" for date mark 1899, "f" to denote import into england, and leopard?s face for the assay town of london. on the reverse side, the spoon is marked with 930 silver and a mark of a bird. i believe this could be an hanau or pseudo mark. most likely made in germany then imported into england, 1899. a presentation case is included with the spoon.
measurements; 6 ? long x 3 ?
condition; very good , one small break in the pierced work.
